Assigning Lot Numbers during Receiving
As an example, If you have three inventory pieces to be received, you will need to set Lot Numbers for all three inventory items.
In the Receiving module you can now click the SR/LN button to the left of the line item being received and assign lot numbers to that product or scan them in.
Note: The Lot Numbers may be the same, but the total quantity of lot numbers must match the quantity being received in the Pass Quantity field.
To do this:
- Click the SN/LN button.
- In the Serial/Lot Numbers field, Assign Lot Numbers to all Passing Quantity by scanning or manually entering the Lot Numbers.
- Choose a Receiving Location if you have not set up a default one.
- Click Auto Fill, or manually enter the amount you are receiving.
- Click Update.
After you finish receiving the product, the new Lot Number will be added to the chosen location they were received into, and can be viewed. To view it, see image below:
- In the Product edit screen, Click the Inventory tab.
- Click into the warehouse tab the product was received into.
- Click the blue button in the image below.
