How to Create Lot Numbers


Note: You must first have product assigned to the inventory type Lot Number before creating the lot numbers themselves. See the Inventory Types article for more details.



  1. Click Catalog.
  2. Click Lot Numbers.
  3. Click Add Lot Number.
  4. You will be redirected to the Create Lot Number page.
  1. Select a Product.
  2. Assign a Lot Number.
  3. Assign an Expiration Date if applicable.
  1. Click Save Lot Number.


Note: You can then Click Print Label located at the top right of the page. See image below:




  1. Tips and Tricks:
  1. If the Vendor had an assigned Lot Number, and the barcodes are currently on the product, you would also be able to carry that over into Zangerine by simply selecting the product and scanning it once in the Lot Number Field. You can then go to the Purchase Order and Receive in the Inventory.

  3. We suggest creating Lot Numbers before receiving in product. By doing this, you are able to create labels before inventory is received. Once the inventory arrives, simply add the labels to the inventory and scan the product inventory into Zangerine.
