Click Sales.
Click Orders.
You will be redirected to the Sales Order List screen.
Select an Order to refund.
You will be redirected to the Sales Order screen.
Under the Add Payment section, Click the Payment Method drop down menu. See image below:
Select Refund.
In the Amount field, enter the amount to be refunded.
Click Record Transaction.
The refund will be recorded in the Payment Information section. See image below:
The refunded amount will become a balance on the sales order that can be written off with bad debt expense payment type, or, zeroing out the price of the product that was refunded on the modify screen.
Note: Credits refunded this way will not return the credit to the customer’s credit. You will have to manually update the credit after the refund.
