Product Edit Fields Descriptions


General:

  • Product Name- Required acts as the product identifier.
  • URL alias- for website, can change how the product’s listing shows on the URL.
  • Product information- this is the product description.
  • Short information- this acts as a brief description that can be used in different PDF’s or fields in Zangerine.
  • SKU- acts as a Unique identifier within Zangerine.
  • Model Number- Optional field if a product has a model number that ins’t part of the name. Not displayed in the system except here and the product list screen.
  • Manufacturer- can select from your list of manufacturers added to your database.
  • MPN- Manufacturer part number.
  • ASIN- Amazon Standard Identification Number.
  • UPC- Universal Product Code.
  • EAN- European Article Number.
  • JAN- Japanese Article Number.
  • ISBN- International Standard Book Number.
  • NSN- National Stock Number.
  • Commodity Code- Universally Recognized Code for a product, that should allow a product to be recognized regardless of region.

Prices:

  • Standard Price- The default price of this product.
  • List Price- If you have a website, this number will show up with a slash through it, indicating a previous price before the now present Standard price.
  • Competitors Prices- can add sales information from competitors for your product.
  • Price- What your competitor lists this product price at.
  • QTY- How many must be purchased from this competitor to get this price.
  • Competitors- Name of your competitor.
  • Tax Class- Set the tax rate for the product. No Tax table is standard inside of Zangerine. It must be provided, and needs to be based on the zip code of the customer’s address.
  • Price/Cost History- This section will show you any price changes you’ve made to the product.
  • Tiered/Group/Contract Pricing-
  • Customer Group- lets you select which customers will have applicable tiered pricing in sales orders.
  • QTY- set the order quantity needed to qualify for your tiered pricing.
  • Amount- Set the amount discounted.
  • Type- this will set if the discount amount in the Amount field will be a percentage off, or a fixed amount off of the listed product price.

Categories:

  • Filter- Search for an existing category.
  • Category list- You can select which categories your product falls under. Must save after selecting categories to have Zangerine make any changes.

Files:

  • URL text box- The image file path to find the image stored in your content/media folder.
  • Tags- Hides the picture preview and the tag entry lines.
  • Browse- Click to add the file or replace it with another file.
  • Red X- Removes the image from your product.
  • Purple arrow icon- Lets you rearrange the order of your images.
  • Alt Tag- Shows if the image doesn’t show.
  • Title Tag- shows when you hover over the image with your mouse on the webpage.
  • Hover to Preview box- If you mouse over the box it will show you the image.
  • Attachments- Use this field to add any PDF’s or outside documents to your products.

Attributes:

  • Custom Attributes- Attributes are to help define if the product will meet a customer’s needs, such as adding unique information such as radius, maximum temperature, material, etc.
  • Key-This field would be something like “Material” or “Temperature”
  • Value- Value would be “Wool” or “80F”.
  • Custom Fields- Often used when you either want a specific set of choices for a unique “key” or want to pre-populate ALL your products with a specific “key”. TO add new custom fields you must go to Configurations under settings.
  • Subtext- nonsense
  • SubtextTwo-nonsense
  • Logo-nonsense
  • Short Description-nonsense
  • New Field-nonsense
  • Setup Fee-nonsense
  • Pack Type- Optional. Used to define how something is packaged for shipping.
  • Purchasing Pack QTY- When purchasing a case from a vendor, if you sell the items individually from the case, you want to enter how many are in that case here that want to be reflected in inventory when that product is received. Example: 1 case=24 bottles. You would enter in 24, so when you receive in “1 case” from the vendor, it updates your inventory with “24” of this product.
  • Sales Pack QTY-Similar to purchasing pack qty where you can add the choice to sell an item by a certain amount when “1” pack is sold in a sales order. If blank the system will assume “Sales Pack”=1.
  • Availability- This field lets you set the expected wait time to have the product delivered to customers.
  • Condition- Set the condition this product will be sold in.
  • Length, width, Height and Dimension Unit- set the dimensions for your product.
  • Weight and Weight Unit- Set the weight and unit type.

Advanced:

  • Admin Notes- Internal notes that can populate on the “ADMIN NOTES” column on the product list screen.
  • Sort Order- this field is only necessary to fill out to determine sort order for categories set to this organization type.
  • Product Added on- tells you when the product listing was created.
  • Last Modified on- Tells you when the product listing was last updated.
  • Product On Stores- Select what websites and integrations you want the product to be listed on.
  • Allow Back Orders- An override to allow eCommerce customers to order more than what is on hand.
  • Is Dropship- Marks your product as dropship only item. This is a tag to help you keep track of products you dropship, but will not prevent you from selling it through other channels.
  • Visible on Website- Toggles visibility on your website. You must also have the Published checkbox toggled to make your products visible.
  • Hide Price on Website- toggles visibility for product price on your website.
  • Not for sale- toggles ability to add to sales orders within Zangerine.

Marketing:

  • Views- Shows you how many times the website listing for your product has been visited.
  • Meta Title, Keyword, and Description- Enter any SEO information.
  • Total Sold- Total ever sold.
  • Total Quoted- Total ever quoted.
  • Related Products- When on the product page these products will appear at the bottom of the page to the customer.
  • Cross-Sell- Similar to Related Products, can just be displayed differently on websites.
  • Product Tags- Allows you to have featured sections on your home page like “New” “featured” etc. This would be the list to select to place that product in that section on the homepage.

Purchasing:

  • Cost- Set the cost you purchase the product for.
  • Purchasing/Vendor Notes- Personal notes regarding purchasing the product. Internal use only.
  • Minimum Stock Level- Setting a minimum stock level will add this product to the low stock quantity report section of Zangerine when the total stock quantity hits below this threshold.
  • Preferred Stock Level- Setting a minimum stock level will add this product to the preferred stock quantity report section of Zangerine when the total stock quantity hits below this threshold.
  • Product Vendors- Attach which Vendor you purchase this product from.
  • Generate PO- Creates a new purchase order for this product with that vendor selected.
  • Product/Vendor notes- internal notes regarding this vendor.
  • Generate New PO- Takes you to the purchase order screen with no vendor selected and this product pre-populated in the purchase order.
  • Active Purchase Orders- Shows the open Purchase orders for your product.

Cross-References:

  • This tab allows you to add any alternative names for customers to search for this product.
  • Search bar- this will narrow down  the cross-references seen on the page.
  • New Cross-Reference- Create a new Cross Reference. This will redirect you to the edit cross reference screen.

Inventory:

  • Inventory type- Choose what this product listing will be. Either FIFO, Serial number, Lot number, or Service.
  • Default Receiving location- Use this to select which warehouse location is standard for your product to be received into. This location will be the default when receiving purchase orders.
  • Stock Level Overview:
  • This section gives you an overview of your inventory across all warehouses, and a breakdown by warehouse.
  • At the bottom of this section, you can add additional inventory for your product to specific warehouses.
  • QTY- The starting quantity for a new stock location.
  • Warehouse- The warehouse the stock record belongs to.
  • Row- Optional. Use as a location identifier.
  • Column- Optional. Use as a location identifier.
  • Shelf- Optional. Use as a location identifier.
  • Bin- Optional. Use as a location identifier.
  • Admin Note- Note for this stock location. This Note can be overridden once the stock location is created but will always have a history in the inventory edit screen.
  • Origin- The country of origin for this product.
  • Blue plus button- When finished entering information, click this box to add the stock record. Note that this is not finalized until you hit the save button.
  • Next to Stock Level Overview, you can select a warehouse you currently have inventory in.
  • Here you will see quantity and location within your warehouse. You can delete inventory locations here with the red trash can icon. You can also print location labels for your product.
  • Inventory Edit History- Clicking on this link will take you to a full history for your product.

Questions:

  • Add New Question- Allows you to create an FAQ section for your product on your website.

Kitting:

  • Build Kits- Allows you to combine inventory to build kits.
  • Insert- Add products for your kit.
  • Download Bill of Materials- downloads PDF.

Options:

  • The options tab allows you to create variations of a product listing.
  • Master Product- This sets your product to be the listing all child products refer to.
  • Child Product- This sets your product to be dependant to the master. The child product list will also show the total combinations created using the master product and your option set.
  • Generate SKU For All Possible Options- The system will create new product listings based upon the master product and your option set(s).
  • Option Set- You can set titles for the variants of your master product. E.G Color or size.
  • Options +- You can set the different variant specifications for your master product. E.G. Blue, Red, Green or 5 feet, 7 feet, or 10 feet.
  • Insert- Allows you to create additional option sets.
